Odyssey of the Mind

Odyssey of the Mind is an international creative problem-solving competition with over 40 years of history. A team of 7 students is formed every year to participate in the Hong Kong Regionals. Teachers take on the role of coaches to guide the team through the process of creating solutions from scratch. In February 2019, the team was placed first in the Hong Kong Regionals and promoted to the 2019 World Finals held at Michigan, USA. Apart from competing, the team attended NASA workshops and had the opportunity to exchange with a local buddy team.

Despite school suspension and the eventual cancellation of the 2020 Hong Kong Regionals, the 2020 school team relentlessly met online to develop a solution to the given problem. An 8-minute skit showcasing a weight-bearing balsa wood structure was produced.
