{"id":41,"date":"2026-02-02T18:13:28","date_gmt":"2026-02-02T10:13:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dgjs.edu.hk\/?page_id=41"},"modified":"2026-07-02T18:48:46","modified_gmt":"2026-07-02T10:48:46","slug":"job-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.dgjs.edu.hk\/?page_id=41","title":{"rendered":"Job Opportunities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<h1>Job Opportunities<\/h1>\n<p>The School invites applications for the following positions with effect from 1st September 2026:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.Instrumental Class Tutors (Cello, Trumpet, Lower Brass, Flute)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Description:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hold a Bachelor\u2019s degree or above in Music or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 4 years of experience in teaching the relevant instrument<\/li>\n<li>Holder of ABRSM grade 8 or above for the relevant instrument<\/li>\n<li>Performing experience with Western Orchestra preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2.Instrumental Class Tutors (Dizi and pipa)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Description:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hold a Bachelor\u2019s degree or above in Music or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 4 years of experience in teaching the relevant instrument<\/li>\n<li>Holder of Central Conservatory of Music Practical Exam Grade 9 or above for the relevant instrument<\/li>\n<li>Performing experience with Chinese Orchestra preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3.Lower strings instructor for Symphony Orchestra<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Job Description &amp; Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Teach children musical knowledge and also orchestral knowledge of suitable repertoire and demonstrate respective skills<\/li>\n<li>Develop the curriculum with the conductor<\/li>\n<li>Cooperate with conductor during weekly rehearsals in Symphony Orchestra<\/li>\n<li>Organize and manage sectional rehearsals<\/li>\n<li>Offer musical and educational feedback to students and parents as appropriate<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Hold a Bachelor\u2019s degree or above in Music or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Minimum level of ATCL\/ARSM in respective instruments or in equal level<\/li>\n<li>Basic conducting technique is required<\/li>\n<li>Passionate in music and teaching, and willing to spend extensive hours training with students when needed<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 4 years of experience in teaching children with minimal music experience and orchestral experience<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills to direct students and offer helpful feedback<\/li>\n<li>Capability to manage various learning behavior or attitude<\/li>\n<li>Enthusiasm for children education<\/li>\n<li>Performing experience with Western Orchestra preferred<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interested parties are invited to send their applications, enclosing full resumes stating qualifications, career history, teaching experience (if applicable) and contact numbers to:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Headmistress<br><\/strong><strong>Diocesan Girls\u2019 Junior School<br><\/strong><strong>1 Jordan Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong SAR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Or via email to: <\/strong><a href=\"mailto:jobs@dgjs.edu.hk\"><strong>jobs@dgjs.edu.hk<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Information \/ Personal data collected will be used for employment purposes only.
