11 girls from our School were on the 28-member team representing Kowloon West Area in this competition.

Girls’ Overall – 2nd runner-up

Girls’ B Grade – 2nd runner-up

Hong Kong Inter-Area Primary Schools Athletics Competition, organized by the Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation: 

7 athletics team members of DGJS were selected to represent the schools in Kowloon West Area.  The Kowloon West Area Team came first in B Grade and second in C Grade.Pr.4   Leung Ching Tung – 2nd in C Grade 4x100m

Pr.5   Stephanie Lau – 2nd in B Grade softball throwing
Pr.5   Audrey Osborn – 2nd in B Grade 100m running
Pr.5   Audrey Osborn – 1st in B Grade 4x100m relay

Athletics Competition for Young Children organized by Chinese Athletics Association:

Pr.1   Symphony Chan – 1st in 60m, 100m and 200m in the age group of 6 & under
Pr.2   Emily Stewart – 1st in 60m and 100m in the age group of 7 and under 
Pr.2   Faith Shiu – 2nd in 200m and 3rd in 100m in the age group of 7 and under
Pr.3   Vanessa Tang – 1st in 60m, 2nd in long jump and 3rd in 100m in the age group of 8 and under

Kowloon West Area Inter-Primary Schools Table Tennis Competition:

 

A Grade – Champion
B Grade – Champion

The B Grade team represented the schools of Kowloon West Area to compete in the Hong Kong and Kowloon Region Inter-Primary School Table Tennis Competition.

They won the championship in this competition.  Vanness Leung (Pr. 5) and Karisa Lee (Pr. 2) were elected as outstanding table tennis players.

All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Table Tennis Tournament 2009-2010, organized by the Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation:

Minnie Soo (Pr. 6) – Champion of Primary Girls’ Single and Double
Vanessa Leung (Pr. 5) – Champion of Primary Girls’ Double

Inter-Port Table Tennis Competition:

Minnie Soo (Pr. 6) – 1st in girls’ single (primary school)
The Hong Kong team won the championship.

Hang Seng All Schools Table Tennis Championship – First

Team members were Vanness Leung (Pr. 5), Minnie Soo (Pr. 6), Elaine Wong (Pr. 6) and  Karisa Lee (Pr. 2)

To support the East Asian Games which was held in Hong Kong in December 2009, the Recreation and Cultural Services Department organized a number of table-tennis  competitions for different age groups in different districts.

Karisa Lee of Pr. 2B came 1st in the Central and Western District, Kwai Ching District, Kwun Tong District and North District.
Vanness Leung (Pr. 5) came 1st in the Yau-Tsim-Mong District and Sai Kung District.
Farrah Au-Yeung (Pr. 5) came 2nd in the Island District.
Ashley Yu (Pr. 1) and Isabelle Xiong (Pr. 1) came 3rd in the Eastern District.

Table Tennis Championships for the New Generation, organized by the Hong Kong Table Tennis Association:

Karisa Lee (Pr. 2) came 1st in age group 7 and under.

The 4th Egypt Junior Circuit International Open Table Tennis Championship, age group 15 and under, held in Cairo, Egypt:

Minnie Soo (Pr. 6) came 2nd in girls’ single and 3rd in girls’ double.
The Hong Kong Team came 2nd in this competition.

Taipei International Junior Table Tennis Championship:

Minnie Soo (Pr. 6) represented Hong Kong in the Taipei International Junior Table Tennis Championship.  The Hong Kong team came first in the session for girls aged 15 and under.  Minnie came second in the individual tournament of the same age group.

Inter-school Fencing Competition: A Grade – Third

The School was awarded the Gold Cup for outstanding overall sports achievements in the Kowloon West District for the 2009/2010 school year.  A special Gold Cup was also awarded to the School for being the Overall Champion for twenty-one consecutive years.

8)

Minnie Soo (Pr. 6) won the A.S. Watson Group Hong Kong Student Sports Award.
