Pr. 6 Dialogue in the Dark

In Dialogue in the Dark, the Primary 6 girls “saw” the world of the visually impaired through simulated everyday activities in total darkness. Simple tasks like walking through a park and crossing a street became ‘real’ challenges for them. This event aims to create awareness of the world of the blind by immersing sighted people in it and letting them experience it first hand, with the help from a guide who is visually impaired. The students found the experience exciting and inspiring. They learnt what an important role the other senses played for the visually impaired and felt greater empathy and respect for them.
