Diocesan Girls’ Junior School is a private, non-profit making school that uses English as the medium of instruction.  Its mission is to provide students with opportunities to reach their full learning potential through a variety of learning tools such as technology and drama. 

Students will understand and learn to appreciate differences whilst developing their own intellectual potential.  Students become respectful and engaging members of their community, contributing and aiding their fellow citizens.

Admission

Application for Primary One for 2011-2012 School Year

No. of vacancies: 140

Age Range: Girls born between 1st September, 2004 and 31st December, 2005 are eligible to apply. Please do not apply if your girl is overaged or underaged.

Application: Application forms can be downloaded from our School website from 19th August to 10th September, 2010. They are also obtainable from the School (from Monday to Friday), free of charge, within the same period from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (one form for each applicant). Applicants must produce HK birth certificate / HK ID Card / Documents permitting her stay in Hong Kong for the application.

All eligible applicants will receive an application form by following the timetable for distribution. The application form downloaded from the School website is the same as the one distributed at School and applicants are encouraged to download the form for their convenience.

Application forms should be returned to our School by post (registered mail) or by hand from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (from Monday to Friday) latest by 10th September, 2010. No late application will be accepted.

Information on School Redevelopment

The School Redevelopment Project has been progressing smoothly and the School was successfully decanted to the temporary school premises in Tseung Kwan O in April 2009. The Parents’ Housewarming Day held on 30th April, 2009 was a success, and parents had an opportunity to tour around the temporary school campus.

Students are adapting well to the new school environment, and teaching and learning will proceed as usual in the temporary school campus from April 2009 to August 2011. Simultaneously, redevelopment has commenced at the Jordan Road campus. The redevelopment will meet educational trends in the new millennium and provide students with new, improved facilities to enhance their learning. These facilities include a Performing Arts Centre, Science Centre, Language Centre, Multimedia Learning Centres, Chinese Culture Room, Instrumental Practice Rooms, PTA Room, an indoor gymnasium, an indoor swimming pool, a modernized library with project rooms, a sports field and landscape gardens. The total number of classes will be increased to 24 classes.

我校現已全面開展佐敦道原址重建校舍計畫，重建計畫由二零零九年四月開始，期望於二零一一年八月竣工。

我校搬住將軍澳暫借校舍上課後，與附近社區緊密聯繫並積極合作，故一切運作很快已上了軌道，家長和學生

已適應新的學習環境，對新環境表現滿意。

四月三十日那天，我校於將軍澳暫借校舍舉行了家長開放日，讓家長可以更瞭解新學習環境的設施和特色，亦

藉此機會感謝在搬遷事宜上不斷協作我校的個別人士和機構。

我校的重建計畫旨在提供更符合新世紀教育要求及更優質的學習環境予學生，以提升學生的學習表現。未來的

校舍將提供以下新設施：演藝中心、科學中心、語言及多媒體學習中心、中華文化室、樂器練習室、家教室、

室內體育館、室內游泳池、現代化圖書館及專題研習室、運動場及花園等。此外，班級數目亦會增至24班。
