UK Educational Tour

Over the summer holiday, 38 Primary Five girls went on a two-week English curriculum tour hosted by Excel Academy in the UK. Chaperoned by two English teachers and three parent helpers, our girls stayed at Tonbridge School. The itinerary included workshops on public speaking, drama, poetry, dance and British etiquette taught by native English-speaking tutors, as well as excursions to famous sites such as Globe Theatre, Cambridge University, Leeds Castle and British Museum. The girls also watched the musical, The Lion King. Apart from the rich immersion in an English-speaking environment, positive values such as respect, responsibility and collaboration were also instilled and reinforced inside and outside of the classroom. To celebrate the fruits of the girls’ efforts and accomplishments throughout the programme, a Farewell Ceremony and Dinner was held on the second last day of the tour. The girls received their certificates, individual feedback reports from their tutors and a copy of the magazine which comprised their own written work. The event was thronged with family members who enjoyed a wonderful performance staged by the girls.
